Doug is a 1993 graduate of Mason High
School. Prior to completing high school Doug earned a certificate of completion from
Missouri Auction School. He attended Michigan State University studying Animal Science and
Agri-Business. While a student at MSU, Doug was President of the MSU Block and Bridle
Club. He served as chairman of the 1996 MI Beef Expo Jr. Steer and Heifer Show. Later he
was Master of Ceremonies for the clubs annual recognition banquet. Doug was a member
of the successful 1995-96 MSU Livestock Judging Team.
After graduating from MSU with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science and
Agri-Business, Doug entered the business world by joining Meadowbrook Insurance Group,
based in Southfield, MI. Doug works as a Loss Control Consultant to the Livestock
Marketing Association, the largest membership of livestock markets and stockyards in the
country. Doug travels nationwide to provide on-site service to over 300 livestock dealers
and markets.
Dougs interest in the auction business began at a very early age.
Dougs father, Bill Sheridan, owner and operator of Sheridan Auction Services, Inc.
has bee in business for over 25 years. Doug grew up working in the auction business and
has continued to work with his Dad and family to grow the company business. In addition to
helping with the farm and real estate auctions, Doug enjoys selling 4-H and FFA livestock
projects at numerous county fairs. Locally, Doug helps conduct Girl Scout, Cub Scout, and
Boy Scout fund-raisers in the Mason community.
