Elizabeth Phillips
MSAA Auxiliary Second Vice-President
Working as a high school English teacher by day and auction crew member by night, Beth is an avid fan of both of her professions. She earned her BA degree from Kalamazoo College and MA in counseling from CMU. Beth began her teaching career in 1997 and worked at a private high school for two years before moving to her current position at Memphis High School in 1999 where she is the senior English teacher and drama director. “I really enjoy working with my students,” she says. “It keeps me young!”
Beth and her husband, Joe, enjoy traveling and raising their 15-month-old daughter, Stephanie, who is also an enthusiastic auction attendee. They work together in “the biz” – a local flea market and auction business. Beth particularly enjoys estate sales because “you never know what you are going to find!”
This is Beth’s first year as an auxiliary member and she is anxious to help move the group into the next 50 years with education for support staff, innovative activities, and communication with the other members.
