1994 MSAA Hall of Fame Inductee

William O. Coats graduated from Bronson High School in 1946. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1949 (Atlantic, European & Caribbean Duty). Betty became his wife in 1949. She was lost to cancer in November 1994 after almost 46 years.

Bill attended Reppert Auction School in 1952. He’s been blessed with 5 children and 8 grandchildren. He was a general Auctioneer for 46 years and has sold everything from Avon bottles to airplanes, but mostly antiques – highlights include: Post Tavern Motor Inn, Battle Creek & Hotel Anthony, Fort Wayne.

He was also a former Realtor, Appraiser, Township Supervisor, Township Assessor and past President of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association.

Being inducted into the Michigan State Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame is a great honor for Bill and was well deserved.
